FAQ

Question: How can I confirm whether my BMW system is CIC or NBT?

Answer:  Among the four common systems of BMW (CCC CIC NBT EVO), CIC and NBT are the most easily confused. The most accurate way to distinguish them is to remove the plug behind the screen and see how many pins there are. The 4 pins are for the CIC system and the 6 pins are for the NBT.

Question: How to determine whether the product needs to be updated through software?

Answer:  You can check our system and MCU version in the system. Usually we will update it to the latest version before shipping, and it is expected to update the software every 3-6 months. If your screen/adapter frequently goes black and restarts after using it for a period of time, you can consider updating the software to solve the problem. If there are no above problems, we do not recommend updating, because failure to update may cause device failure and unusability.

Question:  What should I do if the screen goes black or shows no signal after connecting the rear camera?

Answer: The rear camera has no display or no signal. This is often related to incorrect cable connection or not selecting the correct type of camera.
Please make sure your Linux screen/adapter camera is connected correctly, and then select OEM/Aftermarket camera type in the settings.

Question:  What should I do if the original car interface cannot be displayed normally?

Answer:  Most of the time, the original car information is not displayed because of a wrong setting. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Check whether the optical fiber is transferred to our new device (if the original car is not connected, no transfer is required)

2. Check whether the LVDS cable behind the screen is plugged in tightly

3. Check whether the large plug of the power cord is firmly connected

4. Select the correct resolution and then find the Reboot in the settings.

If the problem is still not solved after the above steps, please try the following methods:

1. Select the correct resolution

2. Turn off the vehicle engine and wait for the screen to go black.

3. Unplug the red plug behind the screen and the large white plug as well,

4. Then plug in the red plug first, then the white plug

5. Start the car. Settings-System-Reboot

Question: Can I change the startup logo on the screen?

Answer:  Yes. You can change the startup logo by following the steps below: Make a 1920x720 resolution png format image, change the name to updatelogo.png and put it in the root directory of the USB drive, plug in the USB drive, it will prompt that the logo has been changed successfully, and then reboot in the settings.

Question:  I can't hear the sound or the sound coming out of my phone what's the problem?

Answer: Our screen/adapter supports two sound modes: original car Bluetooth and AUX.

1. If your original car has Bluetooth music, we recommend that you use it first for better sound quality. You need to turn on Use Car’s BT Channel in the settings, and then connect your phone’s Bluetooth to the car’s Bluetooth.

2. If your original car does not have Bluetooth music, then you need to use AUX. You need to connect our AUX cable to your armrest box, turn off Use Car’s BT Channel in the settings, and then select AUX audio.
